Description
  • A Spun-Off From Spell Solo TTRPG

There once was an immensely powerful Speaker, a sorcerer of the universal language, called the Storyteller. They led a legendary life before, one day, suddenly disappearing. As the Storyteller's existence threatens to slip into the realm of myth, you—a novice Speaker unsure if you've yet earned that title—find yourself fortuitously poised at the trailhead of their path. Follow in the footsteps of mystery, where only lost glyphs grant clues to the journey that led to the uncertain fate of one of history's greatest Speakers. This is the Shadow of the Storyteller.

This is a solo tabletop roleplaying game that's Spun-Off from Spell, meaning it's derived from and/or inspired by Spell: The RPG by Whimsy Machine Media. It does not require Spell: The RPG to play; instead, it borrows some mechanics, themes, and settings and reproduces everything necessary for play in one document.

As a solo ttrpg, The Shadow of the Storyteller is played by just one player. Challenges are overcome by rolling dice to surpass certain difficulties, and the story unfolds mostly through the player forming words from randomly pulled letters. This game asks for creativity and inventiveness from the player—there is no predetermined "right answer" to the mystery at hand. The official Spell: The RPG letter generator may be used for both rolling dice and pulling letters: https://whimsymachinegames.com/letter-generator/
