A Solo Journal RPG Game
You Stayed Out Longer Than You Should Have…
On the surface, Hope is a quaint seaside town filled with kind, welcoming people who choose to live a simple life by the sea. But those who live in Hope know all to well the dangers that lurk within their deceptive home. Founded by a secretive cult who worship a sinister god, the town is a hotbed of paranormal activity and monstrosities that are difficult to comprehend. As the infamous line says, 'abandon all hope all ye who enter here'.
But you don't know any of that. You are a resident of the small seaside town that, for whatever reason, has stayed out far too late. Now, you have to make your way back home. Unfortunately for you, the so-called idyllic town is filled with hidden, malicious terrors - many of which love to come out at night. The town has a recommended curfew of 9pm, and most businesses and people are safely in their homes before then. Normally, your home by that time as well. But time got away from you tonight…
Keeping your wits about you, you must make it to the safety of your home in one piece…never mind that a horrible monster is stalking your every move.
Good Luck Getting Home Safe!
Abandon Hope: Walking Home in the Dark is a solo journal role-playing game. Making your way through the small town in the dark of night, you are being hunted by an evil creature who would love to capitalize on your foolish decision to stay out too late. Will you make it home and vow to do better next time? Or will the monster make you into a tasty late night snack? Only the dice knows!
Walking Home in the Dark is a game that uses prompts attached to the numbers of a six-sided dice (henceforth called a 'd6') to encourage the player to create a spooky horror story set in the cursed town of Hope. Players who are new to TTRPGs should have no trouble playing the game, especially if the player wishes to exercise their creative writing abilities or has a deep love of horror storytelling.
